Dawn Christensen is a traveler, entrepreneur, adventure seeker, and life re-builder! She is a dedicated coach who will support you in making your life better, including life after divorce. She is especially passionate about working with parents, because she understands the unique difficulties of going through not only life, but the divorce process with children. She thrives on helping families through this difficult process.
Ever since she was a child, Dawn's nature has been loving and empathetic. Her mother taught her the value of empathy and love as a child, when she would accompany her mother to a nursing home to visit her mother’s friend. Dawn would wander into other rooms of men and women who had no other visitors and craved human contact other than the nursing staff that was just there to bathe them or stick them with needles of medication. Early on, Dawn’s nature was evident of one of harmony and love for humanity.
Before having a child of her own, Dawn had passion for protecting children and worked as a preschool teacher. Currently, Dawn is a franchise owner of Divorce with Dignity in Contra Costa County and also owns A-1 Affordable Aid in San Joaquin County offering legal document preparation support. In addition to offering life coaching through the divorce process, she also supports many people in saving money and time with their legal issues by assisting with the paperwork and court processes involved in divorce and many other civil matters.
As many people in this world, Dawn was married at a very young age. When Dawn's son was three years old she finally found the courage to end her five-year marriage. It was a traumatic experience that involved custody battles, vindictiveness, court appearances, and put her tens of thousands of dollars in debt. The constant turmoil left her with low self-esteem, diminishing health, and lack of focus.
When the stress of the divorce was evident in her son who suffered declining health and emotional issues, Dawn took a stand! She approached her ex-husband and made and agreement to co-parent and rebuild trust, as friends, for their son's benefit.
After her divorce, she was determined to make a huge change in her life and grow from the experience. She is now passionate about teaching others how to thrive after divorce and in life!
